Doze
New to Android 6.0 Marshmallow is Doze, a power-saving feature that prevents your phone from performing certain tasks if your phones haven't been sitting for a while. It puts your phone into deep sleep mode and only occasionally wakes it up to run background tasks, which saves a lot of battery. It's enabled by default, but you can easily disable it for individual apps.
